About square root
The square-root sign introduces a radical expression. Copying the character alone does not create the extended bar over an expression; use an equation editor for that layout.

Insert √ in HTML text, or paste √ directly in a UTF-8 document. If a box appears instead of the character, choose a font with support for U+221A.
