Choose the letter, then the mark

An acute (é), grave (è), circumflex (ê) and diaeresis (ë) are different accents. A cedilla appears below a letter, as in ç. Use the spelling you intend to write rather than replacing it with a similar-looking variant.

This is a curated selection of precomposed accented Latin letters, not every character or every language alphabet. Each letter guide pairs lowercase and uppercase forms with their exact Unicode and HTML references.

Typing accented letters

Copy a letter here and paste it into your document, message or form. The individual guides explain Character Map on Windows, the Mac accent menu, Word’s Unicode conversion, Google Docs special characters and mobile long-press keyboards.

Common questions

Does Copy all add spaces?

No. It copies every letter in that displayed group in order, without spaces. Select an individual letter if you only need one character.

Where are uppercase accents?

Open the guide for your base letter. It has separate lowercase and uppercase grids, each with its own Copy all control.
